Registration for the 2024/2025 School Year is now OPEN!

Experience the joy at Turning Pointe! Starz Theater Company is a division of Turning Pointe School of Dance (TPD). Through Turning Pointe, students have access to a full lineup of both technical and performance-based classes in dance, vocals and acting. Weekly classes are key to strengthening a performer’s foundation in theater skills and building confidence that will help them shine! Classes are open to students in our community regardless of involvement with Starz Theater Company.

TPD offers a Musical Theater program with more than 20 classes ranging from Beginning-Advanced levels (an evaluation is required for certain levels to ensure proper placement). Class space is limited and spots are in high demand! See below for class descriptions and the Placement process.

In addition to the Musical Theater program, Turning Pointe offers training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Worship, Irish, Hip Hop, Modern and Contemporary dance styles. All classes are taught by YPAD Certified, professional and encouraging instructors.

Do I Need to Be Enrolled in a Turning Pointe Class to Audition for a Starz Theater Company Show?

Starz Theater Company is the theater performance division of Turning Pointe Dance (TPD) and its purpose is to provide the students of Turning Pointe with on-stage performance opportunities. STC shows are chosen to further the education and goals of the TPD Musical Theater Program and there is regular overlap between the teachers at Turning Pointe and the Creative Team at Starz Theater Company.

While being in a class at Turning Pointe is not required in order to audition for a STC Show, the majority of performers in a Starz show are students at Turning Pointe. There are also additional benefits to being a student at Turning Pointe Dance.

Why Should I Take a Class?

We strongly encourage each STC performer to be involved in at least one theater, voice or dance class throughout the year in order to support their overall growth as a well-rounded performer.  Performing in shows or attending intensives can be incredibly inspiring and provide valuable insights into the performing world, but there is no replacement for consistent training that allows students the chance to learn, practice and refine their abilities as they work toward their goals!

Investing in training as a performer is like laying down tracks for a train.  Taking the time to build those tracks will help create a steady and strong path forward for students as they develop their skills and nurture their excitement for the performing arts!

We would love to have you join us in the 2024/2025 school year at Turning Pointe Dance!
